MUD wins acclaimed AILDM national landscape design award for the Darby street community garden project!

Mark Tisdell, founder and Director of MUD attended the Australian Institute of Landscape Designers & Managers (AILDM) awards night in Melbourne recently, accepting the tightly contested Pro Bono ‘Best in category’ & ‘Gold award’ for the Darby Street Community Garden.

The much-coveted AILDM awards recognise the innovative design, execution and realisation of the Darby street community garden, noting its positive impact and contribution to the Newcastle community.

MUD managed the Darby street community garden from conception to design, execution and handover to the community.

“The Darby street community garden is a great community place, perhaps the biggest testament to its success is the place it occupies in the hearts of the community who have really got behind it, adopting it as their own and taking pride and ownership of the space. What was once a derelict street corner is now a flourishing and vibrant place enjoyed by all.” – Mark Tisdell.
